NPC  – Newport Photographic Club meet at the The Weston Building, Harper Adams University, Caynton Road, Edgmond, Newport, Shropshire TF10 8NB on Tuesdays at 7:30pm. Please check the programme.

Founded in 1984 the club aims to encourage and develop the photographic skills of members. NPC – Newport Photographic Club offer a comprehensive programme of competitions, workshops & practical evenings, visiting speakers, social evenings.

At present there are around 80 members from the Telford & Wrekin area of Shropshire, with some members coming from Telford, Market Drayton, Gnosall and the surrounding villages. The club caters for all levels of photographic expertise from the absolute beginner to the experienced enthusiast.

As part of the programme for encouraging members to expand their photographic skills, the club also support and critique groups.

The NPC – Mentoring Programme enables members to work closely with an experienced member to improve their general photography skills or learn a particular aspect of their photography.

The NPC – Peer Review Groups provides a great source of critique of your own image without submitting into a formal competition. Informal comments and suggestions about member’s images are collected from members within your own review group. Each Peer Review Group has around 8 or 10 members

The Club is affiliated to The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) through its membership of The Midlands Counties Photographic Federation (MCPF). Members that wish to enter images into MCPF’s MidPhot Competition are supported with an entry subsidy. For Midphot the club will pay the entry fee for up to 10 entries/member.

Subsidy support for competitions – The Club also subsidise the cost of mountboard to mount pictures for club competitions. The club purchases various items of equipment and tutorial for loan to members. The following equipment is presently available to members:

  • 3 monitor & printer calibrators
  • Photoshop tutorial CDs (3)

The club takes a full part in Supporting the Local Community with Photographic Displays and Exhibitions.
